Alpha Win Lake San Antonio Triathlon
Alpha Win is proud to announce that it will be adding a new race to its California lineup at the location of the historic Wildflower Triathlon: the Alpha Win Lake San Antonio Triathlon! Standing by the motto, “A Distance For Everyone,” Alpha Win Lake San Antonio features Sprint, Olympic and 70.3 triathlon distances, coupled with aqua bike and duathlon. Just a short drive from Paso Robles, come swim, bike, and run through the rolling hills and beautiful scenery that is Lake San Antonio!

Carmel by the Sea Farmers Market
The Market features local certified organic fresh farm produce, eggs, plants, fresh cut flowers, and specialty items such as olive oil, hummus, pizza and bread. Green Waste Recovery provides a yellow food scrap bin for compostable items and Sustainable Carmel is often onsite to answer any question regarding composting and recycling. Community Groups can also be seen at the Market working to improve local issues, as well as those with a larger impact.

Wharf Walk
Wharf Walks will be held on Saturday, April 6th and the topic will be: “Whale Tales of the Monterey Bay.” (Whalefest Monterey will be held later in the month on April 13-14 and Tim will give one hour tours both days.) Tours meet at the head of Old Fisherman’s Wharf (near the pink “Harbor House” store, #1 Old Fishermans Wharf, Monterey. Advance reservations are required by calling Tim Thomas at (831) 521-3304 or via email timsardine@yahoo.com. The tour is for ages 10-adult only.

14th Annual Whalefest Monterey
Save the date for the 14th Annual Whalefest Monterey to be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 13 og 14, 2024 fra 11 ved – 5 pm each day. Det “edutaining” free family friendly event will be held at and around Old Fisherman’s Wharf and the Custom House Plaza -Monterey State Historic Park. It incl des fun activities for all ages, musikere, boat displays and dozens of fascinating marine-related interactive exhibits by numerous local and national organizations. It includes the popular Gyotaku and Scrimshaw activities on Old Fisherman’s Wharf and a return of the “world famous” Abalone Races. Whalefest Monterey benefits many local and national marine organizations that educate, inspire, and empower the public to protect the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS). The event will also feature a 2-day Symposium with world-renowned marine experts and historians on this date or earlier in the year. Big Sur International Marathon
The Big Sur Marathon is 26.2 miles of the most beautiful coastline in the world – og, for runners, the most challenging. An Evening with David Sedaris
Beloved for his personal essays and short stories, David Sedaris is the author of Barrel Fever, Holidays on Ice, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, When You Are Engulfed in Flames, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, and Calypso, which was a Washington Post Best Book of the Year. He is the author of Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary, a collection of fables with illustrations by Ian Falconer. He is also the author of an essay length ebook titled Themes and Variations. Each of these books was an immediate bestseller. He was also the editor of Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules: An Anthology of Outstanding Stories. His pieces regularly appear in The New Yorker and have twice been included in “The Best American Essays.” The first volume of his diaries Theft By Finding: Diaries (1977-2002) was a New York Times best-selling book. As a companion piece to the book, Jeffrey Jenkins published and edited an art book of Sedaris’s diary covers, entitled David Sedaris Diaries: A Visual Compendium. His book, The Best of Me, is a collection of 42 previously published stories and essays, about which novelist Andrew Sean Greer wrote in the New York Times: “You must read “The Best of Me.” It will be a new experience, knowing that enough time has passed to find humor in the hardest parts of life.
