Carmel Surfabout
Întrucât 1980, once a year, local Monterey county surfers and their families have gathered on the squeaky white sands of Carmel beach for a weekend of friendly surf competition. The weekend marks the only calendar dates throughout the whole year where our local Monterey County surf community’s coming together is not dictated by chance ideal surf conditions. Instead, we come together for each other, and to celebrate our shared love for a life of chasing waves on our central coast and beyond.

Spartan Race
Welcome to beautiful Salinas, California. This race venue is teeming with picturesque woods, rolling golden hills, and features some of the most ideal coastal California weather you will find. A true fan favorite, this course boasts all the demanding features that you’ve come to know from Spartan; brutal climbs, open field sprints, and our famous punishing obstacles, all ready to set your muscles ablaze.

Carmel by the Sea Farmers Market
The Market features local certified organic fresh farm produce, eggs, plants, fresh cut flowers, and specialty items such as olive oil, hummus, pizza and bread. Green Waste Recovery provides a yellow food scrap bin for compostable items and Sustainable Carmel is often onsite to answer any question regarding composting and recycling. Community Groups can also be seen at the Market working to improve local issues, as well as those with a larger impact.

First Friday
Kick off summer with a special First Friday outdoors in Frances Elkins Park, right next to the Museum. Enjoy free admission to the Museum, live music by artist Kris Angelis, and a plein air still life art activity inspired by David Ligare: Spheres of Influence, on exhibit in the Museum. Come toast to a summer filled with sunshine and artmaking, open to all ages!

Afternoon with the Artist: David Ligare
A rare opportunity to hear renowned artist David Ligare speak about his life and work, and how he has explored classicism together with the transcendant beauty of nature in radiant light. This event will be held on our beautiful Monterey Museum of Art – La Mirada location. Advance purchase is required. Locuri este limitat, so we recommend reserving your tickets early.

Junior Rodeo
Howdy, young cowboys and cowgirls! Get ready to lasso some excitement at the inaugural Junior Rodeo, happening on Sunday, June 9th at the Salinas Sports Complex in Salinas, CA. Brought to you by MYCars.com and hosted by the California Rodeo Salinas, this event is all about celebrating our Western heritage and nurturing the next generation of rodeo stars.

Monterey Rock & Rod Festivalul
A Benefit Celebration of rock & roll and custom & classic cars and trucks featuring hundreds of 1975 and older classic and custom hot rods, stradă tije, musculare masini, and trucks along with a lineup of great live entertainment, plus food and merchandise vendors. All entries are eligible for Merchant Awards and Best of the West honors. All proceeds go to Gateway Center of Monterey County, Inc, un 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation providing life skills to adults with intellectual disabilities.

The Monterey Wine Festival
Professional chefs from the West Coast continually challenge themselves to make extraordinary chowders and in the 45th Annual Monterey Wine Festival these restaurants are coming to pay homage to their own special & customer favorite chowders – the stuff that is legendary. Clam, Seafood and Creative Chowders are simmered to perfection and the order of the day. Guests can sample these previous award winning chowders, pick their own personal favorites and simple enjoy cuisine that has become synonymous with Monterey and coastal destinations. Of course wines that pair with chowders will also be available and enhance the celebration even further. Included in the Sunday Ticket Price is another seaworthy celebration. Highlights are our Kings of Calamari and Masters of Mussels! Locals and restaurants from afar bring the best in these two categories. The intensity level will be at an all-time high as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES returns this time in the height of summer at the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey. Last year brought incredible speeds and a new track record during qualifying and there is every possibility of the same this season. Be sure to check out the hospitality options for the best seats in the house to watch the fastest cars to visit Monterey.

Ink at The Bay Tattoo Festival
Ink At The Bay, Monterey County, is a three-day, family-friendly tattoo festival. Talented tattoo artists from around the globe, such as Mexico, Brazil, and Spain, will be participating in live tattooing. In addition to the artistry, Ink At The Bay offers delicious local food, entertaining live music on two stages, art and culture, daily tattoo contests, a pin-up girl contest, and a classic car show. There is something different daily at Ink At The Bay, Monterey County. From banda to reggae music, from a Native American Hoop Dancer to ceremonial Aztec dancers, and from pin-up girls to classic cars, our festival has something for everyone. Come and see what people are talking about.

Monterey BVNE Junior Open Championship
Join us at our 10th Annual Monterey BVNE Junior Open Championships. This will be a sanctioned BVNE event and bids will be awarded to our top teams. We are excited and thrilled to partner with both BVNE and Kauai Bikini to continue promoting the largest and most creative junior beach volleyball extravaganza in all of Central and Northern California!

Monster Jam
The Monster Jam will be back at the Salinas Sports Complex on Sunday, June 18th. Tickets go on sale on April 11th at 10am ONLINE ONLY. The Salinas Sports Complex Ticket Office opens for in-person purchases on May 4th at 10am.

The 27th Annual Big Sur Jade Festival
Each year the Big Sur Jade Festival brings musicians, artiști, crafts people, and rockhounds together for an annual fundraiser benefiting the South Coast Community Land Trust. The event is hosted by the Pacific Valley School, which is located across Highway One from Sand Dollar Beach and adjacent to Plaskett Campground on the South Big Sur Coast about 65 mile sud de Carmel și 35 miles north of Hearst Castle.

Junior Naturalist Club – Black Oystercatchers
Join us as Stephanie Turcotte Edenholm from the California Central Coast Black Oystercatcher Project teaches us about the local Black Oystercatcher population. We will learn how and why community scientists monitor this charismatic bird species. Come learn about the important role these birds play in our local ecosystems and how to identify their distinctive call.
