Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Joanna Newsom was classically trained on the harp in her youth, and began her musical career as a keyboardist in San Francisco-based indie band The Pleased. Her song “Sapokanikan”, off her third album Divers, earned her a spot on NPR’s “The 200 greatest songs by 21st century women.” Newsom is known for her lyrical depth and unique vocals and was named “the best-known harpist in American indie music” by Rolling Stone. This will be a rare and intimate performance by Joanna alone: solo voice, harp and piano.
