Looking for historical hotels in Pacific Grove, California? The Martine Inn is a living museum created by Don Martine. In 1972, Don purchased the mansion that was scheduled for demolition. He conducted a $1,000,000 restoration of the property that included replacing all plumbing, wiring and heating. The Martine Inn is now furnished with period antiques ranging from 1800 to 1920. Guests truly experience life as a wealthy person 120 years ago.
Don Martine has been interested in MG’s since his dad purchased a 1949 MGTC in 1950. Don worked on the car and drove the vehicle during his high school years. Since then, he has restored, raced, shown and accumulated quite a few vintage MG’s. Five or more vehicles are usually on display at the inn for guests viewing including old gas pumps, posters and equipment.
