Old Monterey Marketplace and Farmers Market
The Old Monterey Marketplace and Farmers Market is held on Alvarado Street every Tuesday, 4pm-7pm, featuring local produce, crafts, and food vendors. We’re open rain or shine. You’re invited to come explore! The Old Monterey Farmers Market, established in 1991, comprises of 3 ½ city blocks and runs year-round rain or shine. You can travel the world in just three blocks, finding arts and crafts, handmade jewelry, furniture, clothing, international food, organic produce, flowers, and pastries.

Carmel by the Sea Farmers Market
The Market features local certified organic fresh farm produce, eggs, plants, fresh cut flowers, and specialty items such as olive oil, hummus, pizza and bread. Green Waste Recovery provides a yellow food scrap bin for compostable items and Sustainable Carmel is often onsite to answer any question regarding composting and recycling. Community Groups can also be seen at the Market working to improve local issues, as well as those with a larger impact.

Monterey Beer Festival
The Monterey Beer Festival brings over 80 beers from dozens of breweries from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center. You’ll have the chance to taste unusual offerings from major beer companies as well as fantastic beers from unknown brewing companies from around the world! What’s beer without great music and good food? This year the Monterey Beer Festival hosts live music from ‘The All In.’ Local food vendors from throughout the area will also have tasty booths at the Monterey Beer Festival.

Poodle Day
Poodle Day is an annual event in Carmel, California, that unites poodle owners and lovers—and their furry companions—for a fun-filled day, which includes a parade for poodles, poodle mixes, and their human companions, off-leash beach play, as well as evening cocktail parties. In addition to being one of California’s premier vacation destinations, Carmel consistently ranks as one of Dog Fancy’s top ten most dog-friendly cities in America.

A Haunted House – Museum of Horrors
Running Fridays & Saturdays, the last four weekends in October: Spooky thrills and chills from the freakiest folks you’ve ever met! The 3rd year for the Artichoke Festival Haunted House brought rocky scares and tunnels of fun for adults and children. Produced in conjunction with the creative team of Escape Room 831 of Monterey, located alongside the Cardinale and Wright Pumpkin Patch at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center. Tickets will be sold online and at the gate.

Blessing of the Animals
Since 2000, St Francis Winery & Vineyards has played host on the first Sunday in October to a menagerie of wildlife, pets, and owners. Our Blessing of the Animals fundraiser event brings lovers of animals, nature, and wine from far and wide. Raise a glass and some money to help support the Humane Society of Sonoma County. Twilight Cycling
What cyclist wouldn’t enjoy the thrill of a challenging 300-foot climb followed by an awe-inspiring descent? How about the fact that they can do this on a world-renowned race track? Twilight rides allow cyclists of all ages and experience levels the thrill of pedaling WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca’s 11-turn, 2.238-mile course. The ride is highlighted by the legendary Corkscrew that drops 59 feet in just 450 feet of track length. Please note that helmets are required. Track will be open to riders as soon as the renter is off track, and there is a $10 entry fee for each rider.

For Porsche and automobile enthusiasts, there’s no other place to be during these action-filled days. Porsche Rennsport Reunion truly is a Porsche family reunion where you can stroll through the paddock admiring the race cars and talking to their owners, meander through the overflowing Marketplace and car corrals or sit back and enjoy the race cars at speed. The greatest of the greats from Porsche racing history and current factory drivers will be here as well. It just won’t get any better than this.

Annual Pumpkin Roll
Carmel’s Annual Pumpkin-Rolling Contest is now an official event of Carmel-by-the-Sea’s month-long birthday party celebrations throughout October. The official pumpkin-rolling course is right down Ocean Avenue between Santa Rita to Junipero Streets. The course will be lined with hay bales and fencing to keep pumpkins from veering off track and give spectators a front row view of the heart-stopping action. Come join in the fun! If you’d like to participate in Carmel’s Annual Pumpkin-Rolling Contest, look for the truckload of pumpkins parked at Ocean Avenue and Santa Fe Street. Good luck with your pumpkin roll!

Come support Max’s and pets in a health crisis at the 4th Annual Max’s Helping Paws Foundation Howl-o-Ween Fundraiser! We’ve outgrown our former location and have moved this fundraiser to the outdoor Forest Theater in Carmel-by-the-Sea. If you love to show how “fashion-forward” your pup can be while supporting a wonderful local animal welfare nonprofit, Max’s Helping Paws, this is the event to attend!

107th City Birthday Party & Halloween Parade
The City of Carmel-by-the-Sea was incorporated on Halloween in 1916, so it celebrates its birthday and the country’s favorite costume-and-candy holiday with a Halloween Parade at 4 p.m. through downtown in which all are welcome to participate or spectate. City dignitaries, VIPs, costumed dogs and kids, and residents and visitors alike gather for this upbeat annual affair! Following the parade, the village’s charming shops will be open for trick-or-treating and other fun fall festivities.

The 27th Annual Big Sur Jade Festival
Each year the Big Sur Jade Festival brings musicians, artists, crafts people, and rockhounds together for an annual fundraiser benefiting the South Coast Community Land Trust. The event is hosted by the Pacific Valley School, which is located across Highway One from Sand Dollar Beach and adjacent to Plaskett Campground on the South Big Sur Coast about 65 miles south of Carmel and 35 miles north of Hearst Castle.
