Old Monterey Farmers Market
The Old Monterey Farmers Market, established in 1991, comprises of 3 ½ city blocks and runs year-round rain or shine. During the summer it’s the largest gathering of people in Monterey County, attracting more that 10,000 locals and tourists in one location. You can travel the world in just three blocks, finding arts and crafts, handmade jewelry, furniture, clothing, international food, organic produce, flowers, and pastries.
Wharf Walks at Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf – Walking Tours With Historian Tim Thomas
The Monterey Fisherman’s Wharf Association continues to team up with noted Monterey Bay Fisheries Historian and author, Tim Thomas, who is offering monthly “Wharf Walks -Walking Tours at Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf” (www.montereywharf.com) on the first Saturday of every month from 10:00 AM – Noon. Wharf Walks will be held on August 1st (RSVP first!) focusing on ” Celebrations on the Wharf!.”
Salinas Valley Half Marathon
The Salinas Valley Half Marathon begins at the historic Soledad Mission, established in 1791 as the 13th Alta California mission, located in the heart of the Salinas Valley, made famous by John Steinbeck in his novel East of Eden. The course takes runners and walkers slightly south from the Mission, then west toward the Santa Lucia mountains—well known for the vineyards of wine grapes used to produce award-winning pinot noir, chardonnay and syrah—before turning north along the base of the mountain range and winding over gently rolling hills to the west of the Salinas River.

Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival
This very popular Celtic celebration brings the music, dance and athletic events of the mystical lands of Scotland and Ireland to Monterey County. Featuring fun activities for the whole family, the Monterey Scottish Games & Celtic Festival offers a variety of live Celtic entertainment with the thrilling massed pipe bands on parade, including California pipe bands and Highland and Irish dancers. The outstanding array of special entertainment this year will include many crowd-pleasing favorites including Irish singer/songwriter/comedian, Seamus Kennedy, Celtic Rock Band, Stand Easy and more performers to be announced.

The Annual Fiesta Dog Show
Each year this Family Dog Show at the Carmel Valley Community Park has gained increasing popularity in our community, with all types, ages and sizes of doggie entrants. The SPCA brings a variety of adorable adoptable dogs, and many of these dogs have found new homes at this show!

Pacific Grove Concours Auto Rally
The Annual P.G. Concours Auto Rally is open to old, rare cars, and to everyone with special wheels to drive. Participants stage in the afternoon on Lighthouse Avenue.

Monterey Auto Week
Classic automobiles take over the Monterey Peninsula during Monterey Auto Week and Concours d’Elegance. All over Monterey County, classic cars take to streets, golf courses, parks and the world-renowned Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, surrounding visitors with automobiles from yesteryear.
Carmel-By-The-Sea Concours On The Avenue
This is the latest addition to the prestigious group of events that make up the area’s internationally known Monterey Peninsula ten-day collector car gathering, celebrating the finest in automotive design and engineering. Carmel-by-the-Sea’s world-famous Ocean Avenue will be closed to traffic and eighteen blocks of downtown will be filled with collector cars and related motorized fun. A fascinating mix of American and foreign cars will be showcased in front of a backdrop of charming shops, critically acclaimed restaurants and numerous galleries. The CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA CONCOURS ON THE AVENUE will focus on vehicles not usually seen during this ten-day period. The cars will include a variety of legendary vehicles.
McCall’s Motorworks Revival
Noted California Chef’s will pair gourmet selections with California wines for McCall’s 25th Anniversary Celebration. VIP Guests will experience culinary delights while strolling the array of exceptional and rare vintage race cars, motorcycles, and aircraft. World-Class sponsors join in to show off their latest offerings and wow guests with the first look at what’s coming next in the aviation and automotive world.
“The Little Car Show”
American vehicles will be featured this year, but marques from all countries may be accepted. We’ll accept a total of 100 vehicles 25 years and older. That means this year we will accept model year 1991 and older, micro, mini and arcane vehicles with no greater than 1,601cc displacement engines or electric powered vehicles. Entries are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Registration will be closed when 100 vehicles have registered. “Drop in” entries will only be processed on show day if space is available! We also have a “Special Interest” category and may allow limited production and custom vehicles that meet the general rules and intent of the show.

Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance
The traditional Tour traces portions of the original 17-Mile Drive, traverses nearby mountains and valleys, and pauses for a time in charming Carmel-by-the-Sea. Tour participants enjoy a catered gourmet lunch, a champagne celebration at the finish and commemorative gifts. The Tour is open to all entrants in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. And spectators are invited to view the Tour at key points along the route, particularly along Ocean Avenue in Carmel.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

The Pacific Grove Rotary Concours Auto Rally
an annual event presented by the Rotary Club of Pacific Grove on the Friday of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance weekend of Monterey Car Week. Drivers show their classic, vintage, and sports cars along Lighthouse Avenue in downtown Pacific Grove in the afternoon. Following an evening rally along the spectacular Seventeen Mile Drive coastline of Pebble Beach, all are welcome to enjoy a barbecue dinner in Chautauqua Hall.
3rd Annual Werks Reunion
Porsche Club of America (PCA) welcomes all Porsche clubs, owners, and enthusiasts to the third annual PCA Werks Reunion to be held Friday, August 19, during the world-famous Monterey Car Week on California s Monterey Peninsula. Membership in PCA is not required to participate in this celebration of Porsche automotive engineering. 100th Anniversary Ledgends of the Autobahn
Each year, the concourse draws over 400 registered cars and over 3,000 spectators that fill the fairways of the Nicklaus Club-Monterey. Spectators are regularly greeted by rare and historically significant models, as well as factory-prepared specials. And the 2016 edition of the show is particularly special as Legends kicks off the 100th anniversary celebration for BMW in Monterey and will be the first of three events that compose the Celebrate BMW festival hosted by the BMW CCA.

Concours d’LeMons California 2016
An ugly oil stain on the Pebble Beach Auto Week, the Concours d’LeMons returns once again to Laguna Grande Park in Seaside, CA on Aug 20, 2016. Hoopties, Rust Buckets, Misfits, Mistakes and the worst of the automotive world will be on display and as always celebrity judges will be accepting bribes for our Thrift Shop sourced trophies. Hagerty Insurance has inexplicably sponsored the debacle yet again, so its really all their fault. Look for the Hagerty folks to bring a touch of class to this otherwise downmarket affair. The best part is that the show is free for participants and spectators, so you’ll get exactly what you pay for.
Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance
Pebble Beach and the Monterey Peninsula in California thrive each August as the center of the motoring universe. The area hosts the convergence of two major events, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, offering an unbeatable combination of beauty and technology. Monterey Bay Antiques & Vintage Market
Monterey Bay Antiques & Vintage market is an outdoor monthly faire held at the Monterey Peninsula College . To help celebrate this event, Steven Yvaska, the antique columnist with the San Jose Mercury will be offering free appraisals of your treasures from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The market features over 80 premium dealers from Northern and Central California . They will be selling strictly antiques and vintage items, everything form the Primitives to Mid Century Modern.
